Media Pricing

What does is cost for our specialist media expertise?

If you’d like the media expertise offered by Bespoke Media, there’s good news when it comes to our media pricing structure. You don’t pay us. That’s right, nothing. Instead, we are remunerated by the media company that we book space with. For instance, if we book a $50,000 campaign with TV3, they pay a commission direct to us. Our clients simply pay for the media space we have planned and bought on their behalf – in this case $50,000. And let’s not forget, that $50,000 will typically buy a lot more media space than you’d get if you tried to buy it yourself.

The commission model for media pricing means that we can provide all our expert media services to your business at no cost, meaning you get better pricing for your media buy, and we take care of all the work for you. It couldn’t be any better.

Making sense of the language of media

The media industry is full of jargon. If you're new to it, here's a beginner’s guide to making some sense of some of the language you'll likely hear us use.

AUDIENCE PROFILE
These are some of the general characteristics of an audience who consume a particular media – in most cases these will include age, gender, region, education, socio-economic group and occupation.

COST EFFICIENCY
In media terms, this is the cost of reaching one person in your target audience.

CPC
Cost Per Click, sometimes call PPC or ‘Price Per Click’ = The cost of getting one person to click on your ad. Used for digital ads.

Cost Per Impression
The cost of getting one person to view on your ad, usually on a website or other digital channel.

CPT
Cost Per TARP = The cost of reaching each Target Audience Rating Point (formula) Advertising cost / Average Rating (%)
As an example: Let’s say Masterchef had 38% of 25-54 year olds watching last night, and the ratecard value was $5000 – that would give us a CPT of $132.

CPM
Cost Per Thousand = The cost of reaching every 1,000 people in your target audience. Calculated by Advertising Cost / Average Audience (000’). As an example: Masterchef had 525,000 viewers last night in the 25-54 age group, the ratecard value was $5000, that would give a CPM of $9.50 (per ‘000).

FREQUENCY
This is the average number of times an advertising message is presented to a target audience within a given time period - usually against a particular advertising campaign period.

REACH
In simple terms, ‘reach’ is the size of audience exposed to an advertisement in a specific medium. For example: Let’s say TV3 has a media reach of 850,000 viewers, compared to North and South Magazine which might have a reach of 30,000 readers.
Having said that, accurate reach figures aren’t always easy to calculate. Take our North and South Magazine that could have 4, 5 or even more people reading a same printed issue.

RATECARD
The published cost of an advertisement, before any discount has been negotiated.
